Process for Ajman Free Zone Company Setup

Follow these simple steps to get your business up and running in Ajman Free Zone:

1. Determine the Legal Structure

Choose the appropriate legal structure based on the number of shareholders and liability type, such as Branch, Free Zone Establishment (FZE), or Free Zone Limited Liability Company (FZ LLC).

2. Choose Your Business Activity

Select your business activity from the options permitted by Ajman Free Zone.

3. Choose the Type of Office Space

Select your preferred workspace from the space solutions offered by Ajman Free Zone.

4. Obtain Pre-Approvals

If required for your business activity, secure pre-approvals from relevant authorities. In some cases, these approvals are obtained after the license issuance (post-approval).

5. Apply for a Business License

Submit the necessary documents and apply for the appropriate license type according to your requirements.

6. License Issuance

Once approved, your business license will be issued. A virtual lease agreement is provided for flexi-desk users, while a lease agreement is issued for private offices.

Residence Visa Process for Ajman FZ Companies

Once your business license is issued, you can proceed with the visa application process if your package includes visa allocation. The process involves the following steps:

Step 1: Application for Establishment Card and E-Channel Registration

  • Apply for the Establishment Card: A mandatory requirement for visa applications.
  • Register for E-Channel Services: Required for all Emirates except Dubai.

Step 2: E-Visa Application

The e-visa application is filed along with the submission of the following documents:

  • Passport copy
  • Business license
  • Current visa/cancellation paper (if you are inside the UAE)
  • Company establishment card
  • Passport-size photo (with a white background)

Step 3: E-Visa Issuance and Entry to the UAE

Once the e-visa is issued:

  • If you are outside the UAE, you may enter using the e-visa.
  • If you are inside the UAE, the free zone will issue an e-visa plus Change of Status transition.

Step 4: Medical Test

The medical fitness test requires submission of the following documents:

  • Original passport
  • Copy of Change of Status confirmation (if inside the UAE)
  • Copy of the e-visa
  • Passport-size photos

Step 5: Emirates ID Biometrics Registration

To complete the Emirates ID biometrics process, the following documents are required:

  • Original passport
  • Copy of Change of Status confirmation (if inside the UAE)
  • Copy of the e-visa
  • Passport-size photos
  • Medical test result
  • Emirates ID application
  • Insurance policy (mandatory in Emirates other than Dubai)

Step 6: Issuance of Residence Visa and Emirates ID

Residence visas in the UAE are now issued as soft copies and are no longer stamped on passports. Instead, the Emirates ID serves as proof of residency.
For Emirates ID issuance, the following documents are required:

  • Emirates ID application
  • Stamped medical test result

Step 7: Emirates ID Issuance

Once all steps are completed, the Emirates ID is issued, confirming your UAE residency.

Documents Required for Ajman FZ Company Formation

Here’s what you’ll need to get started with your company setup in Ajman Free Zone.

For Individual Shareholders:

  • Passport copy of the shareholder(s) and manager(s)
  • Latest UAE entry stamp / visit visa copy / residence visa copy
  • Emirates ID of the shareholder(s) and manager(s) (for UAE residents)
  • Address proof of the shareholder(s) and manager(s)
  • Passport-sized photo of the shareholder(s) and manager(s)
  • KYC documents and Sanctions form
  • Curriculum Vitae (CV)

For Corporate Shareholders:

  • Memorandum of Association (MOA) and Articles of Association (AOA)
  • Trade license (for an existing company)
  • Certificate of Incorporation
  • Board resolution
  • Certificate of Incumbency/Good Standing
  • Documents for each individual shareholder as mentioned above
