SPC Free Zone Company Setup Process
Follow these key steps to set up your SPC Free Zone company efficiently:
1. Determine the Legal Structure
Choose between a Free Zone Establishment (FZE) or a Free Zone Company (FZC) based on the number of shareholders and liability structure.
2. Choose Your Business Activity
Select a permitted business activity that aligns with your company’s operations under SPC Free Zone.
3. Choose the Type of Office Space
Pick an office solution that suits your business model—such as flexi-desk, furnished office, or dedicated workspace.
4. Obtain Pre-Approvals
If applicable, secure necessary approvals from relevant authorities. Some may be obtained post-license issuance.
5. Apply for a Business License
Submit all required documents and apply for the suitable license type based on your business activity.
6. License Issuance
Once approved, receive your official business license along with your office lease agreement.
Note: The process may vary depending on your business activity and regulatory requirements.
Residence Visa Process for SPC Free Zone Companies
Once your business license is issued, you can begin the residence visa process—provided your chosen package includes visa allocation. Follow the steps below:
Step 1: Apply for Establishment Card & E-Channel Registration
Apply for the Establishment Card, which is mandatory for all visa applications. Register for E-Channel Services (required in all Emirates except Dubai).
Step 2: Submit E-Visa Application
Submit the e-visa application along with the following documents:
- Passport copy
- Business license
- Current visa or cancellation paper (if inside the UAE)
- Company Establishment Card
- Passport-sized photo (white background)
Step 3: E-Visa Issuance & Entry to the UAE
Once the e-visa is issued:
- If outside the UAE, you can enter using the e-visa.
- If you're inside the UAE, an e-visa with Change of Status will be issued to transition your visa status.
Step 4: Complete Medical Fitness Test
Keep the following ready for the medical test:
- Original passport
- Copy of Change of Status confirmation (if inside the UAE)
- Copy of the e-visa
- Passport-size photographs
Step 5: Register for Emirates ID Biometrics
Submit these documents for the biometrics process:
- Original passport
- Copy of Change of Status confirmation (if applicable)
- Copy of the e-visa
- Passport-size photographs
- Medical test result
- Emirates ID application
- Insurance policy (mandatory outside Dubai)
Step 6: Residence Visa & Emirates ID Issuance
- UAE residence visas are now issued digitally (no passport stamping).
- Your Emirates ID will act as official proof of residency.

Step 7: Receive Emirates ID
After completing all steps, your Emirates ID will be issued, confirming your legal residency in the UAE.

For Individual Shareholders:
- Passport copy of shareholder(s) and manager(s)
- UAE entry stamp / visit visa copy / residence visa copy
- Emirates ID of the shareholder(s) and manager(s) (for UAE residents)
- Proof of address for the shareholder(s) and manager(s)
- Passport-sized photo of the shareholder(s) and manager(s)
- KYC documents and Sanctions form
- Curriculum Vitae (CV)
For Corporate Shareholders:
- Memorandum of Association (MOA) and Articles of Association (AOA)
- Trade license (if the company is already established)
- Certificate of Incorporation
- Board Resolution
- Certificate of Incumbency / Good Standing
- Documents for each individual shareholder as mentioned in the previous section
